A Tapestry of Voices: Weaving Inclusivity into Education and Conferences
The International Education Studies Association's 2026 annual conference takes place on 7–8 July at the University of Wolverhampton, and this year's event is one we're proud to be connected to.
The theme, A Tapestry of Voices: Weaving Inclusivity into Education and Conferences, was born out of a conversation at last year's conference about whether conferences themselves could be more inclusive. The result is an event that doesn't just talk about inclusion, but actively models it.
The conference is designed to feel different from the start. Alongside the academic programme, the organisers have built in quiet spaces, room for movement and creativity, and a range of ways to participate beyond presenting. Attendance is available in-person, online and hybrid, and reasonable adjustments are available for anyone who needs them.
At the heart of the event is the launch of a new Inclusion Toolkit and Resource Pack, developed by the University of Wolverhampton's Disabled Staff Network and funded in part by NADSN. It will be trialled during the conference itself, putting the very inclusion we preach into practice.
The conference takes place on 7–8 July 2026 at Springfield Campus, University of Wolverhampton.
Registration is now open, with an Early Bird rate available until 31st May.
